When Will My Ad Be Posted / Updated on all Marketplaces?

Each marketplace has its own publishing rules.  Every time you make a change to your listing and re-publish it, it will take some time for those changes to make it to each marketplace partner we have.  Here are the times you can expect to wait before your changes take effect:

  • Mota.com: Immediately
  • Cars.com: 2 hours
  • AutoTrader.com: 3-6 hours
  • MSN Autos: 3-6 hours
  • Vast.com: 24-48 hours
  • AOL Autos: 48 hours
  • eBay: Immediately
  • Yahoo! Autos: 48 hours
  • Oodle: 24-48 hours

No. MOTA is focused exclusively on For Sale By Owner (or Private Party) sales.

My password doesn't work!

If you have forgotten your password or it is not working, then click the link within the login box that says, "Forgot your account password?" Enter the email address associated with your Mota account and click "continue". A temporary password will be sent to your email. Log into your account using your email address and the temporary password provided. Once you have logged in you will be prompted to change your password.

How do I upload photos?

  1. Log into your Mota account.
  2. Click the “My Account” link in the top right corner of the main page.
  3. This will bring you to the Seller Tools section. Find the Photos link and click on it.
  4. Within the photos section you are given the option to either categorize previously uploaded photos or to upload new photos. Click on the
  5. Upload Images tab.
  6. The left side of the uploader list the folders on your computer. The right side display thumbnails of the pictures in the highlighted folder from the left. When an image is found that you want to display on your listing, click the checkmark box on the thumbnails.
  7. Once the image(s) is selected, then click SEND. The SEND button is located in the top right corner of the uploader. You will not have the option to select SEND until at least one image is selected.
  8. The file will upload and a dialog box will appear that says “Upload complete.” Click “okay” in this box.
  9. The photo(s) that you uploaded will now be displayed in the categorize images tab and displayed on your listing.

How do I change my password?

There are two ways to change your password.

1. Prior to profile login,

If you want to change your password prior to accessing your profile, click the link within the login box that says, "change your password?" Enter the email address associated with your Mota profile and click "continue". Enter your email address, old password, new password and then the new password once more to confirm. Then click the "submit" button. You will receive a message that says your password has successfully been changed. To proceed to your Mota profile, click the "Login" link in the top right corner of the page.

2. If you are logged into your profile,

Changing your password once you are logged into your Mota profile can be done from the "My Profile" tab. To access the profile settings, click the "My Profile" link at the top of the page. Once you are in the profile settings, click on the link that says "Change Password." Enter the email address associated with your Mota profile and click "continue". Enter your old password, new password and then the new password once more to confirm. Then click the "submit" button. You will receive a message that says your password has successfully been changed.
